Privacy Policy

In short: Precision Mail connects your phone or computer straight to your own email provider. Your email is not sent to JolleyTech or anyone else. We do not show ads, track you, sell data or use your email to train AI.

Who we are

Precision Mail is an email app for iPhone, iPad, Mac and Windows made by JolleyTech, LLC, a software company in Helena, Montana ("we", "us"). This policy explains what the app does with your information.

What the app accesses, and why

• Your email. To show, search, send, file and tag your email, the app reads and changes it in your own mailbox, using your provider's standard mail connection (IMAP and SMTP) or, for Gmail, Google's sign-in.
• Your sign-in. Your email address and either an app password or, for Gmail, the access Google gives the app when you sign in. For a Google account the app also receives your name and profile picture, to show which account is which.
• Contacts (optional). If you allow it, the iPhone app suggests addresses from your phone's contacts while you type. They are read on your device only.
• Photos and files (optional). Only the ones you choose to attach to an email.

Where your information goes

• To your email provider only. The app talks directly to your provider (for example IONOS or Google). There is no Precision Mail server in between, and we never receive your email, contacts or passwords.
• Kept on your device. Passwords and Google sign-in tokens are stored in your device's secure storage (the Keychain on Apple devices; Windows' protected storage on a PC). A copy of recent email is kept on your device so you can read it offline.
• iCloud Keychain (Apple devices). If you use iCloud Keychain, your account sign-ins sync between your own Apple devices so you only sign in once. Apple encrypts this end to end; we cannot see it.
• Pictures in email. Like most email apps, Precision Mail loads pictures in an email from the sender's website, which can tell the sender that the email was opened. You can turn this off with "Load images" in Settings.

We do not use analytics, advertising or tracking tools, and the app contains none.

Google account data

When you sign in with Google, Precision Mail asks for access to your Gmail (to read, send, organize and delete your email) and to your basic profile (email address, name and picture). This data is used only to provide the app's email features to you, on your device. It is not sent to us or to anyone else, it is not read by people, it is not used for advertising, and it is not used to train AI models.

Precision Mail's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

You can remove Precision Mail's access at any time on your Google Account's third-party connections page.

The tagging assistant (organizations that use it)

Some businesses, such as Precision Embroidery, also run Precision Mail's tagging assistant. It runs on a computer in the business's own office and adds color tags (such as "Ready to buy" or "Review carefully") to new email in the mailboxes the business chooses. It uses an AI model that runs on that computer: email is not sent to any outside AI service. When you change a tag, the assistant notes the sender and the new tag on that computer so it can do better next time. When JolleyTech maintains the assistant, we work from counts and error reports, not the content of your email.

Keeping and deleting your information

• Removing an account in Precision Mail deletes its sign-in and its offline email from that device and, through iCloud Keychain, from your other Apple devices.
• Deleting the app deletes everything it kept on that device.
• Your email itself stays with your provider, under your provider's own privacy policy.

Children

Precision Mail is made for businesses and is not directed to children under 13.

Changes

If we change this policy, we will update this page and the date at the top.
